Modulus Mob

It’s been a long, long time since I parted with my Prime 6 string. But that bass made a huge impression on me. And ever since I’ve had a strong desire to get another Modulus - especially the VJ4! Well, the stars have aligned, and it’s here - even if the person at the store that shipped it was incapable of copying my address correctly.
Side note: has anyone gotten aftermarket pickguards for VJ4’s before? Looking for recommendations.

A few things look off about it, something about the lower horn and pickguard shape there looks off. You're right, the logo font looks very bold. IMO the graphics look terrible and he is out of his mind on his asking price, even after the 10k drop. It was made "after sept 11, 2001" yet has an early 2000 serial neck. But it does have a seemingly legit LOA from Modulus, I supposed you could reach Rich Lasner to confirm it. It's probably what he says it is.
There are some things Modulus gets wrong about their own history though, like the urban legend about Flea's red white and blue "punk rock bass" that was originally supposed to be Jamaican flag colors but changed it to red white and blue after 9/11. That story has even been shared by Modulus themselves. Problem with that is, that bass is also a 2000 serial number and is shown in appearances live as early as January 2001 playing it at Rock in Rio.

I have tried multiple times since the start of this year and (as others have stated) I have not received any messages, emails at all.
Back a few posts a few people said that Modulus is done and they weren't taking anymore orders which is a bummer!!!!
You might be referring to my post, which again I would consider a reliable source but it is still hear-say until we hear something official. I ordered a lane poor a month or so ago from planet bass and received it promptly, shipped direct from the LP shop. So there is SOME movement at PB who owns Modulus.
How old is that post? This is the response I got in 2020.

Hi Jesse,
We are not able to sell any of the Lane Poor pickups we have on hand as a individual pickup orders. All LP pickups that we have on hand are only available for custom Modulus builds. It has been months since we received our last order from the LP shop, and we only have enough pickups on hand for custom Modulus basses. With most states in the USA imposing stay at home orders due to Coronavirus, there is no telling if or when we may receive another order from the LP shop. Stay safe.

Correct. Not cheap but the Modulus branded Legacy Lane Poor pickups are available. Showing out of stock currently but I know a fresh batch was just manufactured. No guarantee these will be available forever so I picked up one to keep for my next modulus or to just have another on hand. I ordered and received mine late April. Lane Poor Legacy Pickup, MM 4/5 HB (Modulus Logo) , High End Bass Guitars, Amps & Bass Strings
I did the same thing... it's times like these when I remind myself that one of the happiest I've ever been playing bass was playing my best friend's wedding with the cheapest starter-kit Squier P-bass he sold me when we were 10. We jumped on stage for two songs during set break of the actual, booked wedding band.
Zero effects. Don't even know what amp I was playing through. Didn't touch a knob of theirs, volume included. Plugged in, turned the bass's volume and tone to max, ripped, and will savor it forever.
I'd love a LP pickup.... would LOVE one. Do not need when it's close to the price of the amp I want to upgrade to
