Modulus or Wawrick?

Ok so i went to my local music store to try some basses..
Now i have been offered great deals and i got a choice to make i can get either a ...
Modulus vj 4 string or a
Warwick Thumb Bolt on 4 string...

I will get them for around the same price... both relly good basses...
Both i loved playing and loved the sound just dont know which on will be the better buy?

Bit of a contrast there, so seriously you're going to need to choose the one you actually like the beast. And one of them will stand out more if you think about it / sleep on it.

Yeah, it's really about which bass you like best. It'd be a hard choice for me, I like both of them!

For my personal tastes, I like Modulus over Warwick in a heartbeat. Those basses just sing to me, and the necks feel great and never move.

I'd have to lean towards the Modulus. Great jazz bass sound with a bit of graphite sheen, and indeed, a graphite neck...awesome! I love Graphite!

I would go with the Modulus. Most of the Mods that I have played have been very versitile and sounded fantastic. The Warwicks I have played have not been consistant in versitility, construction and are heavy.

As others have said, that's really 2 different monsters there.

Different sounds, radically different bodies.

I am a Warwick fan, i will not hide that, but what you get with that bolt-on thumb, you can't find anywhere else. There just isn't a real substitute for that sound. On several talkbass posts where people had to identify a bass by sound alone, the most accurately defined bass was generally a Warwick Thumb. The downside is that Thumbs tend to always sound like Thumbs... though that can be a pro for some people.

I own both a Modulus and a Warwick. They sound totally different. I love both of them...but if I had to choose between them it would be the Modulus. They're both good. So which ever feels better to you.

No question there........Very different indeed.

I know IMHO I would be bias, however the stability of the graphite for folks that gig a lot (different temp climates ect) there is nothing like graphite.

The VJ is a one of hell of versatile bass to have.

Hmm... I own two Modulusesses and one Warwick. I guess that means Modulus wins by one.

As others have said, totally different basses. Which one suits YOUR needs best? Does either? Be honest, it's your music and your money.
