Modulus players - question

Hi y'all Modulus players,

Short background info:
I used to play a Quantum 6 and a Quantum 5 (both Bart. pick ups, alder body, maple top, 3 band EQ), but, unfortunately, sold both of them a couple of years ago; 6 string wasn't for me anyway.
I'm familiar with the normal Quantum, but have never played a sweet spot.
These basses are very rare over here and I've been looking for quite some time now. There is a chance for me to get a 2 pick up Quantum 5 or a sweet spot 5; both alder body, maple top, 2 band EQ.

What's the difference regarding sound between a normal Quantum (2 pick up version) and a sweet spot?
I strongly assume the sweet spot is less flexible and might just have one particular tone(?).
How does it differ from the normal Quantum?

Any input is welcome.

My experience with Modulus basses over the years is that irrespective of pickups, they sound more similar than dissimilar. iow, if you're splitting hairs and/or really picky about your tone, sure, a Quantum Sweet Spot sounds different from the standard 2-pickup Quantum models*, but in the grand scheme of things those two instruments will sound so much more alike than they will sound like a Fender or a MusicMan or even a Zon that it's almost a moot issue.

*I'm as anal about tone as the next geek, but I've never done a side-by-side comparison of a Sweet Spot and a 2-pickup equivalent so I can't really offer an opinion on how that difference might manifest itself sonically.

Hmm. Having had I think 3 or 4 Flea's in varying arrangements, and probably 6-7 Q5's, I'd say go with the standard Q5. I think I MAY have played a SS once, but it wasn't setup very well and honestly as was stated above the sound wasn't that big of a difference.
Really, if you get the standard Q5 and just favor the bridge pickup 75% you'll probably get close to the SS's tone. I'd go with the standard model, just for more flexibility and chance of resell.

I had a Sweetspot 5 and a Quantum 4 and gigged them together for a year or two.

The Sweetspot was not lacking in tone or output at all. Great basses. The Quantum may be a bit more versatile, but the Sweetspot isn't any different that a high end Quantum beyond the 2nd PU and usually a plain painted finish.

I have a Q5 and an M92 5 string, which pretty close to a SS. I would agree with Bob's opinion above. I have had the Q5 for many years and just got the M92 this year. I do prefer the versatility of have having two pickups on the Q5, and it's my primary player. The M92 has a slightly different tone, as the single pickup is right at the 36th harmonic sweet spot.
