Hello everyone,
long shot here but worth the try.
I owned a trans black Modulus Q5 which stupidly sold and still miss like crazy.
Bought a 2004 bubinga top Q5 which sound like a grand piano but I still miss the trans color / maple top combination.
Bass comes with OHSC and is in amazing conditions, no dings, almost mint.

So if you have a trans color Q5 (black or sienna or dark blue) (with truss rod) more or less of the same period and fancy the Mike Gordon look, please get in touch.

Also interested if you have a 19mm with same specs and need a smaller strings spacing.

Bass is located in Italy, but as you can see from my feedback I have extensive experience here on TB sending and receiving instruments from USA :)

Yea man, sweeeet. Dreamy. I really want a q5. Maybe if the right one comes along I'll trade my q4 w/upgrades for it...

Hey maybe one day you'll get to try it for yourself @iriegnome! I'd be more than happy to let you try it out next time you come to Madison. Bring one of your tbx basses so I can also get some kicks out of the deal.

I can ship the bass to a friend (a trusted TBer who lives in IL) if trader does not feel comfortable shipping or receiving the bass from Italy.

If I were you, I WOULD HOLD ON to this bass, it's almost 11 years old....soon enough, it will be 20 years old......
Here's a suggestion, try to upgrade the pickups....never liked the passive Bartolini pickups, why don't you try to find some Active Bartolini pickups, which it will be difficult to find but they will give you a better tone.
Second, upgrade the preamp. ......there are so many good out there. ....like Demeter, John East U-Retro Deluxe Preamp, Sadowsky preamp, these will help your sound. ...and KEEP this bass!!!

Thanks for the suggestion,
I know that tonally Modulus Q5 can have immense sound variations depending on preamp/pickups combination.
I owned few ones, all of them equipped with different pre/PU.
Many will disagree but IMHO a player must also visually love the instrument he plays.
I look at this bass and miss my old Q5, the matter is purely aesthetical, not sound related.

Talking about a straight sale with two interested gentlemen, but still available for a trade.
Willing to add a BIT of cash on the top of the trade for the right Q5
