Modulus Quantum - Jazz pups?

I've been itching to experiment with something, mostly for fun, so here it goes.

I want to put Jazz pups in my Modulus Q6. I know they won't necessarily fit.

First, I don't want to route anything, so that is a concern. They'd have to fit vertically in the slot. If I like them and want them to stay, I'd figure out some kind of way to put a bezel around them to take up the remaining space.

Any ideas on how to approach this, and what pups might get the job done?

Be aware that the string spacing where the Modulus pickup routes are at may not line up with the pole pieces of the jazz magnets you intend to install. Measure VERY carefully before you spend any money on the pickups, and certainly before you start drilling screw holes.
Ah, I had not really considered that just yet. Thanks! I'll add that to my list.

Okay, after getting some tips, I visisted the EMG website, and I'm now really curious about putting a 45P up front, and the 45J in the back. Anyone have any thoughts on this configuration? I should also note that I have U-retro Deluxe pre in this bass, so any thoughs on potential problems would be welcome.

Thanks!

My old Quantum 5 came originally equipped with a 40P/40J setup--I think that was standard for EMG-equipped Moduluses at one point. What pickups does your Q6 have in it now?

I'm not positive if the U-Retro is compatible with active pickups like EMGs. I'd contact East first to confirm that you can use EMGs with it...

There are other J- and split-coil pickups in the soapbar shape. The first one that comes to mind is Norstrand--he makes a Big Single that's the same size as the Bart and EMG soapbars, though I'm not positive the string spacing is right for the Modulus....
