I can't believe that I have to say twice in two days, but here it is. I, along with the other admins and moderators, have NO TOLERANCE FOR MISOGYNY on this site. I will not tolerate any comments on a bass player's appearance, especially females. If this is not acceptable to you, go find another site to post your comments.

Very sad that this has to be said in 2025.

When it came to playing with ladies, all I was after was whether or not they could make the gig, if they could play and/or sing.

Why would it be any different than hiring a guy?
The only other important requirement I would have is enjoyable to work with. Most bands I've been in have been mixed gender and thankfully everyone has been reasonable. You don't want to be stuck in a van on a 250 mile trip to a gig with people you don't want to spend time with.

I saw her live last year during her tour with Greg Howe. I had no idea who she was. I was at the gig with my wife, and before the end of the first song I was already telling her that the bass player was very impressive... We looked her up from the web on the way home, and found that she was already a sort of celebrity since many years 😅
