Monitor Placement - PreSonus Sceptre S6 - how far from wall?

They're sealed-back with a coaxial speaker and a bass port in front, 6" woofer - how far from the wall should they be placed? I got the whole "equilateral triangle" figured out, but not the distance of the base of the triangle from the wall. Any thoughts, general or specific?

How big is the room? If it's the common small space like a converted bedroom, you'll want the back of the monitors as close to the front wall as possible without actually touching. This will raise the quarter and half wavelength cancellation frequencies to a point that's easier to treat acoustically. Ideally you would get the monitors around 7' out from the front wall to lower the quarter and half wavelength cancellation frequencies to a point below what the monitor can reliably reproduce, but that's typically not feasible in most spaces.

Regarding the equilateral triangle; You may have already considered these factors but consider that the monitors should be placed with the high frequency driver elevated to ear level, and the convergence point of the equilateral triangle is ideally 10-14" behind your head while in the listening position. Also, if the room is rectangular (i.e. not square) then you'd ideally center the monitors on the shortest wall so that they fire into the longest dimension of the room, assuming it can actually function that way.

That's everything I needed, thanks. Will try for 7" out, I can actually do that. The center of the coax cones will be right at ear level just over the monitors. If 7" doesn't work, up almost against the wall. They're on the long wall of the rectangle, nothing to be done about that.

I think you misread what I wrote. 7" (inches) would be fine, but right up against the wall without actually touching would be better. Better still would be 7' (note that that's feet, not inches), but it's unlikely that you have sufficient space in your room for this to actually work and still have your listening position be in the range of 35-40% of the way across the room.

Here's how it turned out, went with speaker mounts from Crutchfield. To get them far enough apart, they ended up close to the door on the right and the bookshelf "trap" corner on the left, so probably not ideal acoustically, but they sound great.

I can close the door (barely) for better acoustics but not sure what to do, if anything, to the corner on the left.
