MonoNeon background?

This is my first post on TalkBass!

I have been playing a ton of bass lately and my biggest inspiration is MonoNeon. His style is ridiculously funky and his note choice for any groove always sounds so good!
Does anyone on here personally know Mono? Or mainly, does anyone know his background in music growing up? I’ve read that he started playing at age 4 and I want to know, besides just playing in church, what he did to get so damn good!! He’s just naturally gifted....

His dad's a bass player, too. Don't know much about him, though. MN also went to Berklee for a little while. I like how he combines music with Dada art. He finds very unique ways to play, like when he plays along with spoken word videos.

Yeah it’s too bad is early musical life is so vague. I also really like his tone too. From what I’ve seen he uses Lakland (55-01 and 55-02) and also a Bassmods bass and then various others. I’ve heard he is self taught but he probably learned some stuff from his dad early on.

He’s incredibly gifted. Everything else flows from there, IMO.
