Moog daisy chain?

Anybody have the final word on daisy chaining my MF-101 with a couple of other 9v pedals? I'm aware of the reverse polarity, but is there any other issue that will prevent this from working ok? I'll only have a Polish Love and Octabass on the same chain for the time being.

he said "any OTHER reason" I can't think of any assuming you have enough milliamps and they're all more or less the same voltage. It's really not tricky to get passed that problem, literally swap the wires going to the plug around.

No, actually it's not that simple. The chassis is usually connected to ground, and the output jacks are connected to that, and you can't swap those around.

And even if the polarity wasn't a dealbreaker, moogerfoogers don't like being daisy chained. Noise issues...

Hmm. I didn't know this. There are many times I go to the crazy combo of the Digitech Bass Synth Wah combined with my MoogerFooger LP 101. I set it behind it the MoogerFooger in the chain. I'll have to look into this when I get home.

Reverse polarity alone doesn't mean you can't daisy-chain a particular pedal. Some pedals with positive-tip plugs (like older 9VDC EHX pedals) still work fine, because the circuit itself is wired "normally" - only the jack is wired differently.

However, reverse polarity might (and in the case of barrel plugs, usually does) indicate that there are common ground issues which will prevent you from powering your pedals if you try to daisy-chain them (i.e., positive-ground designs and the like). In the case of Moog, I can't remember if that's the case, but I wouldn't be surprised. Plus, like Line 6 and other weirder brands, they're not known to play nice soundwise even if they DO power on a daisy chain (i.e., noise).

Manufacturers tend not to use a reverse-polarity jack very much, and when they do, they're often trying to tell you something about the circuit's inability to play well with others.

Are you talking about your signal chain or power? This discussion is in reference to powering ze pedal.

Now, for the record I have not tried daisy-chaining the pwr of my Moogers, as I had read about the noise issues when you try to share power. I seem to remember rollno: mem is shot) that the problem can get worse the more you plug together.

So I power mine independantly and am working on getting an isolated supply with 10 outputs in my rig to get rid of the wall warts.

So, if you *were* talking about daisy chained power with your mooger and BMS, I suppose it could work if you use a polarity adapter for the moog but I have not tried this.

I managed to pickup the Moog ring mod and low pass filter off of craigslist yesterday, but they didn't come with the power supplies, but I managed to find a DC 9v 700ma center positive PSU from a thriftstore. I was thinking of powering them both off of that power supply and a y-splitter (http://accessories.musiciansfriend....l-CableY-YSplitter-Extension-Cable?sku=150328). Should this cause any noise issues?
