more sympathetic the others

Hi,

With most basses I have tried/owned, sympathetic vibration was not a big issue.
The exception was a 5 string G&L L 2500 (which I no longer have). At the time I thought it was a tight-spaced-5-thing.

I have a Squier Affinity Jazz, and there it is rather pronounced, that I have to use muting more than I usually do.
It is strung with Ernie Ball slinky flats.
In my other basses (fretless fernandes with TI, Gibson LP DC with GHS), it is rarely noticeable.

Any suggestions? is it a pickup height adjustment or a is it just the way this bass is built?
