I've never met him personally. I did hear him play in a small local venue when he was promoting that album. Of course, Parlato wasn't there. The one thing that struck me is how low he had the action on his strings. Not the best tone, IMO.

Hello Sam, I'm so sorry an indirect interaction with me left you with a sour aftertaste. I can't imagine what it could have been. That's never my nature. Would you mind telling me what it was about and give me a chance to explain? I'd sure like the chance... Thank you, Morrie Louden

Hello, Tom yes, that was shortly after my carpal tunnel surgery on both hands and I had to play very low action for a while until it could heal. It was quite painful and stubborn... I feel bad in reading this. I've been back to full strength for a long while now. Morrie

Hi Morrie, glad to hear that you've recovered and are back to full strength and that was not your preferred string height. I suppose you could just say that that was your Gary Peacock phase. Not the worst comparison, no? I've had my own bouts of tendonitis but I was lucky and laying off for a couple of months and then learning to leverage my arm weight resolved my issues. I'm looking forward to your next recording or performance around SoCal!
