Very curious as to who makes the most aggressive 15 cab. I love the lows that I get from 15's but the in your face growl and punch from 10's is awesome too. Is there a middle ground? And no I don't mean 12's.

Bag End S15-D has got great growly mids and a great top end for a tweeterless cab. I have three of them which makes a killer stack.
I always thought my old Mesa Diesel 215 with the EV speakers was very much voiced towards the midrange, far more so than some tens I have played. If you can pick up a single 15 Diesel cab I think you would be very happy, and it shouldn't cost you much on the second hand market.
Not my Ampeg SVT15E. Just scratch that one off your list. There was a 15, years ago, that tried to steal my girlfriend. I'd call that aggressive behavior.
peavey blackwidow 215 deep version, used they are dirt cheap, and they actually sound pretty nice.
Dr. Bass 1580. You can select from a few different 15" speakers (Neo and ceramic), has an 8" midrange driver for some nice upper end punch, a nice smooth tweeter, an attenuator for both the mid driver and tweeter, is built like a tank and is pretty inexpensive as well.
I really like mine! Definitely worth a look if you're in the market for a 15" cab.

+1 on this. i used to have a 800watt road ready diesel 215 and it was very aggressive... probably the best sounding cab i've ever owned too. my favorite by far.
+1 on the Mesa with the EV15L drivers. I have the 2x15 and it kicks. Very aggressive when you want it to be. I've owned the Bergantino HT115 and that was more about big, clean, low end. The Bag Ends have nice punchy mids and are smoother than the EVs - can be aggressive when pushed. Those three are all quite different. For what you're looking for I'd recommend the Mesa with the EV driver.

I've got a pair of the EV 1x15 cabinets, and they are snappier than any other 15 I've tried. They come to life with a tube amp. I'm running a Bassman 100 into them, and have never been as happy with tone.

+1 I've got an old Sunn Sorado 2x15 loaded with EV15L's. One of the loudest cabs I've ever owned. I used it with a Sunn 200S head that was only 60 watts or so. I played classic rock through it for 20 yrs.

I had a 2x15 EV cab for years that was really nice. It had an adjusable mid-driver in it that added to the growl.
I think Stanley Clarke was involved in developement of it..(EV 2-15 BM) was the model I think.

yes yes Mesa Diesel 2x15, absolutley has that middle ground you are looking for.
dirty as hell, can be clean when you need it to be, very loud & clear
another user once told me it can easily take on an Ampeg 8 x 10 and in his opinion was louder and clearer and still as aggressive
Try to get the road ready one with wheels 800watt, actually just get one with wheels cos it makes moving them way easier

Interesting how we all hear things differently. I find the discontinued Bergantino 115's as probably among the least 'aggressive' cab I've experienced. It's big, pure, even, and hi fi crisp up top. I would also not put the Bag End's in the 'aggressive' category, but they are quite warm and punchy versus big and wide.
+1 to the Mesa 15's.
If you don't need huge low end, the new little Schroeder 115L's are quite punchy and a bit grindy to my ear in the mids... like a big, loud, tight 112 cab. Two of them would probably give you all the low end you would need, with lot's of growl and punch also. However, they are more punch and tight than big and fat.

i have found that the 1505DT black widow is very agressive and powerful sounding in the right box. i believe that they market these more for PA use, but it kills in a not-too-big (<3.5 cu. ft.) cabported at 50-ish hz. big fat low end, artticulate (for a 15, at least) midreange, and clean treble that goes high enough on its own, without a tweeter. if you want those plasticky highs, youll need a tweet, but you get my drift. i currently think it blows their "bass guitar" version (the 1502) out of the water.

Big +1! I played through morebass' 2X15 not long ago at a mini-GTG--my first experience with the Mesa EV cabs--and that thing roars!
You're right on about the 1505DT Black Widows. Longer xmax than the 1502's marketed as bass speakers. I have mine in 4.5cu.ft., a little big but puts bottom under any 210 and doesn't sound half bad on it's own. The growl you hear from the 1502's as well as EV15L's is the driver going into overexcursion due to the short xmax and general lack of lowend response. Also known as cone cry.
