Mountainking Electronics Megalith vs Heavy Machjne.

Do they really have similar voicing or are they different animals? Is a Heavy Machine really a Megalith sans the more heavy feature?

I want one of these and I have always leaned towards the Heavy Machine. It always seemed like it would cut through a mix better. If it is essentially the same as a Megalith though it would be nice to have a super heavy saturated fuzz monster with one stomp of the foot.

Anybody have more definitive info as far as these circuits are concerned?

Pretty sure the Heavy Machine is a Megalith without the "more heavy" switch. If you look at the manual on Mountainking's website it even says Megalith in the Heavy Machine section.

Hi all, The Megalith and the Heavy Machine have nothing in common, circuit wise, except that they have similar, but tuned differently, tone circuits with accompanying similar control names. They are both high gain distortion based pedals with plenty of low end but they actually sound pretty different, imho.

These pedals are still in production and anyone searching for info on them will find threads like this replete with opinions and in this case, wrong information. I think it's invaluable when a builder makes the effort to connect directly with people who are interested in their products. Stops a whole lot of misinformation being passed on down the line.
