I just bought a DPA 4099b (yes, i'm very excited). I'm wondering how to go about mounting the XLR adapter on my bass. Any suggestions?

Double Bass mounting question

I put the belt clip on the adapter then zip tie it to the string holes of my tail piece. I take the long wire and coil that together, put a zip tie around that, then zip tie that whole thing to the tail piece as well. That way I can keep the DPA on my bass at all times.
This works really nicely except it really vibrates a lot when I play around A & Ab. I wrapped a velcro microphone cord holder around my tailpiece that sits under all the wires and the XLR adapter. It helps a little bit, but still vibrates a little.
If I could find a solution to the vibrating, then there wouldn't be any problems at all with my set-up. Anyone have any solutions to this?

Just place a piece of foam between the output jack and tailpiece. Like how Bob Gollihur does with his preamp: PREAMPS: Mounting a Small Preamp to your Tailpiece - FAQ courtesy of GollihurMusic.com I have my bow quiver attached right up against the tailpiece. Started to get some rattle from it, shoved a piece of foam between quiver and tailpiece where they make contact and VOILA! Rattle gone!

I am experimenting with mounting an ATM 35 like this (Gollihur). Instead of the foam between the power pack and tailpiece I bundled the wire. A black zip holds it through the string holes. If there is any degredation from the added weight it's very minimal.
The DPA hasn't crossed my path yet so dunno how the mounting might differ.

Did you mean to put a link to a pretty picture or were you referring to the post right before yours? DPA took several months time to get the bass mic mount onto the market. It does the job. If I were designing a true bass version I'd mount the jack the way Schertler does with the DYN-B.
