Movember

I came up with a compromise:

Since I already have a beard, and since I'm not Amish, it connects to a mustache, and since I don't want to shave clean and start over, I will not trim my mustache for this month.

I trimmed it to be even with the middle of my top lip just before Halloween. I'm going to see how ridiculous I can let it get. I'll probably look like Nietzsche with a beard LOL. :D

Yeah yeah, good idea to raise awareness of a disease that no one ever talks about, blah blah blah,

I just don't dig the idea that when people look at a new cookie duster, they are forced to think about how the doctor, well, you get the idea.

I mean breast cancer, yeah I can totally SUPPORT that! There's two good reasons to not be put off by that campaign! But prostates? Yech. Do women want to think about it? No; like they dig gettin' na!$d but I KNOW they don't dig our junk THAT much that they want to think for a month about doctors putting their fin..., well, you get the idea.

Out Christmas shopping, "there's Santa kids, get your picture taken. Oh look at Santa's mustache! Come here kids, stay away from Santa!"

Couldn't we just have our own shirt ribbon instead of our face?

We're doing it at work. We're having a competition in all of our offices across the US to see which office can grow the best staches.

I kept a goatee for 15 years until this came up. I said what the heck and knocked everything off. After 5 days, I've a mustache only. I think I look really weird. One of my employees has this really creepy fu manchu going on.

It's fun and a weird way to gain awareness, so what's the harm?

The itch goes away. I quit shaving about 7-8 months ago and it quit itching after the first full month. I think.

It's weird though. My cat bites it when we wrassle, it gets stuck in the neck hole of pullover shirts, and I have to move fast when I start my van because it has one of those god awful automatic shoulder belts and it grabs my beard.

And I can't eat a bowl of cereal without an errant milk drip landing there.
