For me, raking is very good at a lot of things, but in slower tempo songs, I think it ruins the feel. But since I follow through to the lower string after each pluck, that finer is always there to deaden the note. This means I have to "bounce" it off the string before my other finger can pluck, which severely limits my speed, and it's a little awkward. How can players like Flea do those high speed twiddling lines without raking?
