I've never played it, but I know that Eugene Levinson has released an edition of the piece in the past few years. I remember seeing a supportive review in either Double Bassist magazine or the ISB magazine.

I can only think of one fingering for that, and I don't think it's appropriate. I tried to play that thing 15 years ago and have not attempted it again.

The Zimmerman Complete Parts book for Mozart has suggested fingerings throughout most of the work.

which passage or issue in particular do you need fingerings for ?

also, i'm guessing you're using the orchestra tuning version (all parts in D Maj.)?

I had the great and humbling pleasure of seeing Patrick Neher perform this piece quite well indeed! I'm sure he has interesting concepts for it. Biggest fear; the principal is sick and "Per Questa" is on the roster for me to play!

You would be better off using the thumb for every note than if you where to use the fingerings in that book.

The fingerings in Zimmerman's Mozart book are inefficient IMO. Go over it with your teacher, and/or get a lesson or two with someone who has played it more then average (like Chris Brown here in Saint Paul). GOOD LUCK learning it
