Mp3 player suggestions

I need an inexpensive mp3 player, (512MB - 1gig), with a power adapter, for an office. Everything that I'm finding is intended to be mobile, and is powered by either AA batteries or lithium ion batteries. This is fine, but I need to be able to plug it in, sit it down, and just leave it. It's for my wife's clinic. So, I'm just going to plug it into the receiver, and it will play for 10 - 12 hours each day. Does anybody have any suggestions?

Today only while supplies last,(no, not kidding) you can get a 30gb Zune from www.woot.com for $149. Seriously, today only, they'll have something else up tomorrow.

Hard to beat that value since it's normally $249, it's a solid player for that price despite what some Micro$oft bashers say. But it may be a little more than you're looking for. It was perfect timing for me as my 30gb pos Creative mp3 player finally crashed it's last time.

Best of all? You won't need iTunes or anything like that.

You can use programs like WMP and Winamp to put music on it if you want, or you can just use Windows Explorer to drag and drop. Creative's also usually come with their own explorer if you wanted to use that. It is super easy, and you can add almost any file type.

Yeah, but the Zen Stone cannot be powered by anything but it's internal battery, AFAIK. In addition, I don't think it will last 10-12 hours daily. I say invest in an Ipod or iPod Nano & get a nice docking unit. The Nano or regular iPod just plugs right in and plays and gets charged at the same time and it can play all day, everyday!

Not sure about the specifics, but you can buy for fairly cheap from Creative, a USB Power Adapter that is meant for the mp3's like the Zen Stone. Though iPod Nano's are nice, they are also pricey. It's a toss up on preference I guess.

Just out of curiosity, what is it that you don't like about wav and different file types?

What, no ipod suggestion?

I like the new nanos alot, and despite what anyone says, ipods are very intuitive and easy to use.

Also, the lack of Apple support is seriously biased IMO. My 30 gig's hardrive died on me and I took it expecting to have to buy a new one, and it turns out you have a free warranty for the first year for these types of things. I signed something then walked out with a brand new ipod.
