My jazz group has started playing Mr. Clean (Freddie Hubbard, on the Straight Life record). Listening to it, I thought it was a 16 bar form with the head played as 8th notes. I was surprised when my keyboard player handed me an 8 bar chart with the head as 16th notes. I guess that makes sense from a funk perspective, but .... What do you guys think? Is it an 8 or 16 bar form?
