MTD Kingston CRB 5

Hello,

I am interested in this bass. Has anyone used or played one? Any thoughts? I have looked through past threads but most are years old.

Kingston MTD's are really well done! Dana B Goods! Google them or FB them. A bunch of great folks play them and they are the best people to work with! Hope that helps! MTD4LYFE!

CRB 5 is basically a 5 string P-bass, great playing neck, sounds good. I had one for a few years and really enjoyed it. Sold it to fund another bass but definitely would recommend one.

I emailed MTD's U.S distributor, Dana B Goods early yesterday morning and they got back to me later in the day. On a Saturday.... they were super nice and answered all my questions.

Well I am on the verge of buying a CRB 5 in tabacco finish with rosewood fretboard. Or should I go with another color combination?

I like black/maple, but that's just me.

The black and maple does look good. But I am thinking of playing it safe and going tobacco and rosewood.

I have one - had for over a year. Its a custom job. Had it done in gold sparkle. EMG-X P pickup and soon a BTC preamp. I didnt have a P bass in my arsenal and decided to grab one and modify. If you want that classic P bass tone with MTD feel and vibe its the ticket.

Wow looks like you've been mulling over getting one for nearly a year now?

They're good basses, sounds like a P-bass, plays like an MTD, doesn't cost too much to own. What's not to like?
