MTD Kingston Z5 pickup upgrade.

Hi, i bought a MTD Kingston Z5 with an Aguilar OBP 3 preamp on it and sound decent, but the original pickups are not my think, the bass is gorgeous and I like it, but the sound is not what I want. What pickups can I buy for this monster? I want a modern hi fi sound, good for slap, jazz soloing, chords, etc. I was considering Aguilar DCB D2, but I don't know, what do you think guys?

i recommend u take a look at Nordstrands. i loved the Big Singles i had in a previous bass. my current kz5 project is gonna have Big Rigs in it. i have read alot of good things about the Big Splits and Big Blades too.

I second this. The Nord big splits have a nice open sound while still keeping that j bass vibe and the zen blades also have a nice open sound while leaning more towards that boutique treble/sizzle.
