hey MTD folks

Bassland here. I am at Mike's house right now! I havent been here in about 7 Years and it is great to be here. I am doing a video project with Mr. T and will be starting work on the shop portion of the shoot soon. I think MTD lovers (of which I am one) and those considering purchasing an MTD will be interested in what we are doing. I worked for Mike in the old Tobias days and am real excited about this project. more details and a video trailer soon!

Just please tell me that you can get some good quality clips of the various MTD basses being played. Most of us considering buying an MTD already know what an MTD535 sounds like and we don't have the money. So, clips of a Zephyr, Kingston, Heir (the one I've never found clips of), and anything I've forgotten.

I'd love to see the master at work, some interviews, lots of history, and more on tonewoods, ergonomics, etc. And see some lovely basses, of course.

Hey Guys,

Thank you for your support. This all started when Mike was here for L.A. NAMM in January. After the show, He gave a seminar in LA and I went along and video taped the event. Having been with Tobias when most of the events discussed in the seminar were germinated I saw a story unfolding. I think that the story revealed a lot of things that many of Mike's customers and admirer's only know bits and pieces of. I approached mike with the idea a cultivating that seminar into a multimedia presentation of the essence of what MTD has become. That landed me here in Kingston. I have tried to post a picture we took last night but I would have hosted the photo so I m not able to post it on TB. If any one has any ideas let me know

PS I am getting some shots of a bass being made that belongs to a TB member named Sam (Mike told me his TB handle but I forgot... Duh, Kidneys....

Just got this pic from Bob (TB: BassLand). I requested future pics be a bit larger if possible. He didn't mention a tagline, so apparently, just a nice shop shot. :)

Thanks for the Pic Bob (and thanks for hosting it Vic) I cant wait to see/hear more.

Bob, I read your story about the rise of Tobias basses. It was very interesting, gives some insight into what mike has been through to make him the luthier he is today. Are you going to be sticking around for the body run that he is starting soon, it would be neat to see how he does what he does from start to finish (in a short hand form of course).
