Multi-effects unit to go against Mobius

Hi! I have the Strymon Mobius on my board. I really like the sounds available with the Strymon, but I do notice some loss of low end. I would happily continue to rock the Mobius, but I am also curious about other potential multi-effects units to shoot it out with my Mobius. The main effects I care about are phaser, flanger, chorus, vibe, Leslie (I still play piccolo bass too :D), tremolo (harmonic a fave). Delay and reverb would be a plus, but would have to be as good as an SA Collider - love their spring reverb and oil can delay. That being said, I would probably keep my Ventris, which has my personal spring settings saved. I also have the Empress, so good alternative delays would be nice. Good filters would be cool, and pitch generators too. Whatever I choose could possibly replace the Mobius and Collider, given the footprint of a couple of the options in the poll.
I want to keep my max spend at around $400 if possible, and always open to used gear.
DI, preamp, overdrive, distortion are all already covered on my board-so not terribly worried about having those features on any prospective unit.

Your budget is a little tight for anything other than the Plethora X3 or the B6. Maybe an alternative would be running the Strymon through a blend pedal to get back your low end?

Might need one with phase inversion, but check out the OBNE Signal Blender or EHX Tri Parallel Mixer or their ilk. It sort of feels like any of your choices here would probably be compromises given what else you seem to have on your board.

That said, if you like TC Electronic’s tone prints, the Plethora looks very cool. The advantage to the B6 is that it has an effects loop and you can place the loop wherever you want it in the chain. The Plethora X5 and HX Effects (I think) do this too, but they’re probably going to be harder to find in your budget.

It just seems like using something like a blender, you could have exactly the pieces you want on your board, rather than doing the calculus between what’s in the multi effects, space on the board after what the multi effects pedal takes up, and budget.

I second the blender pedal. For example on my Boss GT CORE 1000 it allows me to set a signal divider. At the front of my chain I send 200hz and above through my effects, with below 200hz staying unaffected and then blended back into the output. Works well for me. I have seen some variable frequency blender pedals become available recently.

If you're interested in the Lunar/Gemini/Mercury, they all have similar features and mod options, but it's worth mentioning that the knob assigns are hard-wired, so the choice for which really just has to do with what you want the knobs to do. I chose Gemini for that reason alone.

It's hard to argue with the Boss GT CORE 1000 for general features & flexibility. One weakness there (IMHO) is/are the Boss reverbs. Also, some of the editing is not super precise. Still a good value for the price.

The Fractal FM3 is a beast. It's lacking in bass-centric features, but is so configurable, that bass players love it. It could replace quite a few items in your pedal arsenal.

The source audio pedal app/software lets you reassign the knob parameters.

The Boss GT 1000Core is an excellent utility pedal with tools like a crossover, channel dividers and mixers, effects loops, MIDI controllable, virtual expression pedal, lots of HPF/LPF settings in effects and EQ. Not to mention the amps are excellent. It's compact size means it's ideal for adding other effects pedals and expanding its functionality.

In an ideal world, they'd update the firmware so that was possible, but they've got their hands full with newer pedals and Neuro 3. Also, not many people have made a stink, so they definitely won't bother.

I've mentioned it on this forum a few times, especially if someone claims all three pedals are interchangeable. They sort of are, with static presets, but in terms of realtime knob control that's the difference-- really it's just lower two knobs, as the top two, DEPTH & SPEED are common to all three.
