multiple in-ear systems simultaneously

We are a 5pc band that play various venues in which some have supplied PA and others where we supply our own equipment. We are fortunate to have several combinations of PA equipment at our disposal. Our band leader has a system we use for smaller to medium sized gigs, while our keys player has a larger system that allows for all of us to have our own monitor mix. Our leaders system only allows for two separate mixes. One for him (he uses in ears) and one for the rest of us.

Recently our guitar player purchased an in ear system as well and has expressed interest in using it.

I am not very well versed when it it comes to the "magical box" that allows us to be heard lol. My understanding is that most powered mixers have only 2 channels for monitor sends (?) . So.....what do we need to run/power 3 or even 4 in ear systems so that we all get our own separate mixes.

you must have this if you are running independent mixes which is (i would go as far to say) a MUST if running in ears for everyone.

one major downfalls of cheaper powered mixers (not saying yours is, just assuming) is that there isn't enough AUX sends. a easy and cheaters way around this is to purchase a sub mixer. so purchase a mixer of appropriate size you need for both channels and AUX sends. then either run direct outputs from each channel into your powered mixer, or take the mains out from the submixer then go into your powered mixer and mix from the sub mixer.

less than ideal i know, but its a work around from having to buy amps and mixer or re-purchase a PA...
