I have a X32 producer it's great been thinking about getting an XR18 for smaller shows.

Best of both worlds is a laptop with a touchscreen if it’s in your budget.

I'm thinking Microsoft Surface. My main computer is a laptop with touch screen.

I've been using an X32 rack as the heart of an IEM system for over 6 months now. It has been fantastic. If you are thinking of purchasing a Surface just to run controller software, I have a suggestion. I use Mixing Station XM32 on an android tablet. It is a very high quality controller that is better designed for live sound mixing than X32-Edit. For the XR18, the software is called Invalid Link Removed.

It's the same thing - Behringer owns Midas. Anyway, I exercised my 20 percent coupon at GC today and bought the Behringer. I was very tempted by the Soundcraft Ui24, but it cost twice as much and has more channels than I need. GC had a "scratch 'n' dent" XR18 on the floor, but I got a new one for less with the coupon. Anyway, the GUI for the XR18 is different on every platform and I like the Android version over the iPad, but the king is the PC. So for now I'm going to dredge up an old laptop I have and run the mixer off that.

There are some improvements on the Midas version, genuine neutrik, mic pres, 10 year warranty, but no hi-z
The behringer is a better fit for myself.

In my experience Behringer makes great stuff at any price point. So when you consider their low price point, there really isn't too much risk.

And from your review it seems you are happy with the product and the result to I say go for it!

I’ve been using an X32/S32 for a couple years now with my PA, and an X18 in my rehearsal space. I (and my sound tech) have been very happy with how the stuff performs.

I agree with you on most of their stuff except when it comes to their wireless mixers. The quality on these is is very good.

Since they bought Midas that may be the case, but their reliability hasn't been stellar in the past. I doubt I'll be buying a lot of Behringer stuff anyway.

I have the X32 Rack. Great piece of equipment. Excellent sound.
