Hi to all,
Not sure if this is the right forum. Sorry if...
Many years ago, I studied classical guitar which made me able to read music, have a good posture, an efficient left hand technic and a precise right hand picking. What's the relationship with DB?
I didn't lose my left hand technic reflex. I'm 68 and began to take DB privale lessons 10 monts ago. During the first months, I struggled with back, shoulder and left hand pain, while always cheking my posture. Playing DB is physical and put to work muscles that we don't use often. Each of us doesn't have the same body shape and strength and basic posture may be adapted.
But with time, the pain went away and my teacher told me I had a good left hand posture and technic, thanks to classical guitar training. Now, I can play more relaxed and with better precision.
Beginners, don't get discouraged. Keep going and never neglect the right posture and technic.
DB : Georgous machiavellian instrument. Love it.
Happy DBassing to all.
