Rock on! I hate hearing grumps complaining about GVF. They are great players and they’re bringing back some really great rock’n’roll. Plus I guarantee any older guys, Jimmy Page hasn’t made any kid pick up a guitar and JPJ hasn’t inspired a 12 year old to pick up a bass in 30+ years. They should be grateful for younger players keeping it relevant.
Besides, as much as I personally love Zep, they ain’t exactly original.
When was that recording made? .....Who is it?
I'm not familiar with that one.
Pretty sure this version is a cover of the Led Zeppelin version.
Here is the original recording from 1929 by Kansas Joe Mc Coy and Memphis Minnie
True for sure.I love Zep but they did a lot of remakes. That’s all.
My kids heard lots of music in our house growing up and they still like a lot of the records/CD's/bands my wife and I had playing all the time, plus MTV was on often as well.I've listened to at least one new record a week for the past 25 years.

The flip side of that is that they brought me new music from the time they started collecting (mid teens) so they've exposed me to so much new music without me having to hunt and dig for it.
I don't do a whole lot of streaming. I listen to Amazon Music once in a while. The days of hunting for new music are long gone. The apps have taken over and it's pretty great.
Yes, watch their videos on youtube and you can hear and see the pure joy of making music that puts a smile on everyone's face. Dancing, singing and enjoying being together. It's beautiful. The wildest!!!![]()

My wife listens to Pandora.
Amazon Music is costing me nothing, my daughter subscribes and she somehow added me so I have it for free.I save about $1000 a year subscribing to Apple Music over buying physical media. I don't listen to playlists or "radio". Only new albums and "new to me" albums, plus whatever else I like.
I feel guilty streaming but I do it. Amazon Music Unlimited $8 per month above my regular annual Amazon tithe.Amazon Music is costing me nothing, my daughter subscribes and she somehow added me so I have it for free.
Because I'm and old fart, the idea of owning physical media still appeals to me, I still like owning CD's and like having music on my MacBook Pro hard drive (lots of it).
My cell phone has all the same music that is on my laptop so I can listen to the music I own in my truck or on earbuds or bluetoothed to my home stereo system.
I’ve noticed most people seem to prefer the music they were listening to when they were roughly between the ages of 12 and 25.
My favorite “era” was from 1964 till roughly 1979. I think the thing about that period was the huge variety of styles and the relative complexity of the music. compared to today’s simplified melodies, four chords, and genre siloing.
and really love the glam rock sounds of the 70s ( my high school days), and even enjoy alot of the new wave stuff from the 80s
i've loved music from every decade since i was 14ish
