Music man stingray classic 5 -Should i or not ?

Hi!

In a few days a 5-string classic stingray, white with rosewood board will be available in my local store.

I wonder if any of you out there have one and can give me some response of how they are. They are a bit
expensive so before i decide i need every bit of review i can get

It would be nice to here your thoughts

I have a 2010 4 and i like it better than my mia P punchier longer sustain and it looks better! I would grab it i have been playing 25 yrs and like it better than any bass i have played!!

I've played several of them, and it's one of my favorite current basses available. I'm a huge fan of the regular Stingray 5 as well, but that 2-band eq just sounds incredible, and the neck is beyond comfortable. Obviously, try it out yourself (the only way to know if you'll like it), but it definitely gets a big thumbs up from this stranger.

What's the difference(s) between the new Classics and the discontinued (active, US-made) SUB basses? The SUBs have that 'industrial' finish, but other than that they're the same slab body, same pickup, same 2-band EQ as the original, aren't they?

The SUB has a painted neck as opposed to gloss finish, and the body is poplar instead of ash. Pickguard is different (industrial look/feel on the SUB). Neck radius is different (7.5" on the classi, 11" on the SUB). There may be others, but those are the apparent ones of which I am aware.

The bridges are different, the body of the Classic is string through, the finish of course is much, much different

I say get it! I played one for just a while at my local store and was sad to set it down. I have a very new stingray that I really enjoy, but if I had the dough, I would make one mine as fast possible!

DBTOYS...I have this exact bass and it KILLS...my current favorite.

To the Op... I say go for it....My only gripe which has been consistent with all Rays Ive owned is weight.. Ive have yet to land a sub 9.5lb Ray....So check it out before hand otherwise...enjoy!

The good thing about the weight is i believe it has more sustain!!
