Music man Stingray

Yep, buy used from a good person/seller. Purchased both of my Stingrays for less than half the New price, just need to be patient, especially with the Classic model since there seem to be fewer of them out there.

If you can, A/B the Classic along side an SR model, I actually prefer the satin finish on the SR model. Most of the Classics have a gloss finish (feel slower to me) and I think a different neck profile (thinner).

Just my 2 cents

I paid $1100 for this shipped in the original hsc and it looks brand new. Be patient, they're out there.

GASing for a classic 2EQ US stingray. $2300 new is insanity to me.
Any alternatives?

Used US MM?
I know the US made SUB guitars get a lot of love around TB but are hard to find and I don't love the painted neck.

So far I've tried a Ray34 and a S.U.B 4. Actually preferred the S.U.B 4 but a little uninspiring in the looks department.

I would consider a build but I don't think Warmoth makes Stringray shapes. I would love to take on a new parts project.

Anything I'm missing here?

seriously click this:

doesn't hurt to call them!

If you're hot to take on a pats project, why not get a Warmoth body with a rear control cavity and no pick up rout? BBG has router templates for the pup. Nordstrands get a lot of love for their MM pups and pre's. A roasted swamp ash body and roasted neck will make that puppy sing or growl.

when gassing for an original there's no substitute! You're better of taking the money you'll waist on the S.U.B 4 & start saving up be patient and pick a used real deal stingray at a better price !
