I've spent a lot of time in Nashville and in those bars. Sure, most of the music is covers, but artists will mix in some originals and also sell their original CD's.
We call Broadway "NashVegas"
Really? Nashville has had that nickname for decades. It's due to the amount of neon and rhinestones. It actually has very little to do with Broadway, or anything current. NashVegas is the old Nashville. Now, it's drunk tourists, ugly condos, bachelorette parties in pink stretch El Caminos and a bunch of corporations mooching off the state.
