No case candy, no sale.....

Losing the case and/or the goodies is a sign of bad store operations, in my humble opinion. The place I deal with has a hundred bases, almost always. And most likely 10 times that in guitars, and I never once seen puzzled store staff over the goodies that are included. If an instrument is missing something, there's usually a note or an informed employee close by to keep the customer informed, and usually an accompanying discount...

I think you should have to be able to pass a test before entering a music store. I was demoing a 6 string yesterday when a foreign family walks into the bass room. the 13 year old kid picks up a Deluxe Jazz and it was quite obvious he had never held a guitar before as the second he picked it up, the neck dive suprised him and head went crashing into the floor. As if he wanted me to cringe in pain, he began to blindly pluck away holding the pick incorrectly, as the father begins to turn the E and G tuners until the strings break, and then the A and D. Everytime they popped, he looked at me and laughed, and because 4 werent enough, he proceeded to walk up to me while i was noodling around, and continue with the same ordeal. I stopped him as quickly as possible, and led them into the guitar area.

My GC doesn't have a place to try out effects. I was told that I had 30 days to try it and if were unharmed and I didn't like it, I could bring it back..... no questions. Well, you can return it for store credit only. I can return other things for cash back, but pedals are in house credit only and the receipt said nothing to that nature.

No true. The will give you cash back.

Customers with REAL money to spend and the intent to spend it have no problem asking for assistance.

I hate shops that limit the time you are able to spend with each bass to something like 10 minutes so you can't really get to know it and get a decent feel for it. Also shops with sales people who won't give any help/advice to first time buyers and sales people who don't actually have any idea about the major differences between basses and brands and are completely bias towards certain brands.
