Musicman Sterling cutting out Aaargh!!

I've had it since new almost 10 years, I love it but it has this recurring problem that it cuts out if I slap it, then if a tap the pickup again and/or if I tap the volume pot it comes back to life. We play 250+gigs a year all over Europe and its never let me down until now.
Does anyone have any suggestions??? Pickup faulty or vol pot on the blink?? Numerous batteries and cables ave been used. the jack socket is not to blame either

At the risk of stating the obvious, it seems clear you don't want to open it up and look around to see if it's something you can fix. Otherwise, you'd have done it by now. To me, the only reasonable approach is to get it to your tech ASAP.

I would contact their customer service, they are among the best in the biz and will take care of you, I had a problem once with a SR5 pickup, and they sent out the entire package of electronics, just to make sure they get it right!!! Woked like a charm after that.

I'd get it fixed, instead of tapping it and saying 'aaarg'.
