Musicman Sterling hh vs h

I have the opportunity to get either a Sterling hh or a Sterling h, and would just like some other people's opinions.

Either bass can cover any situation. Do you prefer the straightforward simplicity of the H? Personally, because I enjoy slap technique from time to time, I shy away from the HH as it eats up too much real estate. I've tried the HS and fell in love instantly. Because of my current playing situation(lots of looping), that's the configuration I'll likely get on my next EBMM.

I don't know if this is a general rule, as I've only played them in stores, but the HH seemed to weigh a metric ton - and that's a lot from me as I like heavy basses . . .

I have an H and I love just the single pickup. I love slapping and tried the HH and just liked the feel when slapping better on the H, but I would try both to see what you prefer.

I always seem to be drawn to the HH models. Except the Big Al, where I prefer the SSS configuration.

The SR5 HH and Sterling HH are wired for series operation only. That was a dealbreaker for me, since I strongly prefer the sound of parallel wiring for the bridge pickup on those basses. If you need a two pickup bass, I'd suggest a G&L L2000 over a Sterling HH.

I own a Sterling HH, and to be perfectly honest, I wish I had bought something else. The neck and such are not my thing, but that's not what this is about. I found that the lack of slap room on the HH was one of my first turn offs to it, and since I generally use the bridge pickup for fingerstyle, I found that second humbucker to only be a burden. If a Sterling is what you want, and you're a person like me, go for the H.

Try both.
I do like the Sounds of positions 2 and 4 on my Stingray 5 HH a lot. And I do not slap too much on it, but it is nevertheless possible.

I'd go for HH...

I have a Sterling HH. Anyone who has problems slapping on an HH Musicman most likely never took the time to try and correct their sloppy technique. I found that my right hand moved around a bit when I slapped at first, but after a week or so of slapping 30 min a day to practice, my hand stopped moving and I never had a problem hitting the neck humbucker again.

Go for the HH. Many more tonal possibilities. I'm having a series/parallel push/pull pot installed in 2 pots next summer to add wiring variation if that's what people are obsessing over.

I own a Sterling HS but the Humbucker is wired in series mode

I love the sound that I get with the HS configuration, but I can't get that traditional MM Slap tone.

Someone knows how I can get close to the classic stingray tone (Humbucker in parallel tone). Maybe with the 3 band preamp of this bass?
