The most important thing with B string is to be properly bended on the saddle and nut. Which means that you must have sharp angle on saddle (nut) and not rounded. Do this by loosening the string a little bit and then firmly press it with your thumb on the neck side of the saddle (nut). After that tune the string and check it's height as it generally goes lower after this correction. This way you should get a more consistent tone. Rule can be also applied to E string if this "round bend" occurs. (generally for heavier gauges)
