Musicman SUB?

SUBa.jpg

SUBs are one of the best values out there. Really too bad they've been discontinued. I have more expensive basses and I really prefer Bongos to anything else, but that SUB in the photo matches up well in tone to ANY 2 band Stingray I've ever played (and I include the much-vaunted pre-EB Stingrays in that comparison).

SUBs rock.

Mine isn't a sub, but the essence is similar... I've tried out for 4 different bands over the past couple weeks (turned them all down due to either lack of musicianship, or being dishonest about their intentions and direction that isn't what I'm looking for).

One was heavy rock - comment from them: "Man, your sound is perfect"

One was older motown/r&b - comment: "Man, your sound is perfect"

Two ended up being classic country bands pretending they were going to do 'newer stuff' - comment: "Man, you sound is perfect"

I changed nothing in my rig for any of the 4 situations... EQ stayed about flat. Any sound change happened via the switch and my hand position.

Ya... the musicman type basses are very adaptive to different situations if you allow them to be. (And mine isn't even a 'real' musicman - OLP mm32 )

YMMV (Your mileage may vary)
