MXR Bass Fuzz or Big Muff?

Hey I play in a hardcore punk band, which pedal would be better for what i'm playing? I already have the Big muff but I'm wondering if I should replace it, I just wanna hear other peoples opinions first.

Bought the El Grande the day it came out....took it back 3 days later.
Not my cup of tea. The new MXR Bass Fuzz Deluxe has separate dry and wet knobs which the El Grande needed badly. But still not a very good fuzz IMO

I was not a fan of the el grande either but i do like the classic 108 from MXR.

I've had my Big Muff for almost a year now. I bought Swollen Pickle to replace it and ended up keeping both. It gets a lot of hate but I find that I really like it for the most part. It's great in a three piece.

It has separate controls for your Wet (effected fuzz signal) and your Dry (unaffected clean bass signal), so you can mix them to taste.

Either way i spent 3 days with it and was VERY happy to get my money back. I wouldnt put one on my board if it was free. But thats just my opinion

I have tried the BBM Pi and the Markbass Distorsore and did not like the fuzz either one created. Too reedy and bassoon-y for my taste. The Zvex Mastotron, however, makes hairy fuzz without a hint of reedy buzz to it. Mikey Like. I also liked the ZVex Wooly Mammoth, but it was $200 more than the Mastotron.

I loved this pedal through my Fender P Deluxe, and they also sound choice through a guitar.

drop the bass big muff and get either the normal usa muff or an older black or green russian.

The El Grande usually needs some tweaking of the internal trim pot. I moved mine to a mini pot on the top of the enclosure (drilled and soldered) and it really adds to the pedal's versatility. I don't know why MXR buried it deep inside like that...bizarre. Anyhow...a tweak of the trim pot and engaging the deep button really tames this pedal and there's a very nice sweet spot on mine.
