MXR fuzz deluxe vs Big Muff bass deluxe

Hi everyone.
Anyone has an opinion?

Im trying to choose a great fuzz in my effects chain.

I'm mostly a rock/metal bass player.

The mxr is a bit more fizzy in comparison to the big muff. The big muff has a bit more growl and seems to be thicker than the mxr fuzz deluxe. I'd highly recommend the bass big muff deluxe it might suit your style a bit better as I find it to be the heaviest with the most growl almost a dark tone but still bright.

I had a mxr bfd. It has a seperate wet control that sits on top of your clean tone. The wet (fuzz) tone doesn't go up to unity gain. I play in a trio hard rock band and this resulted in a fuzz tone being completely buried in the mix while the clean tone went through unaffected. Sounded like I didn't even turn it on. Sold it after a week and went back to muff clones.

Have owned both but now just own the EHX BBMD. The only thing the MXR has over the EHX is a smaller footprint. The EHX is very versatile and I am absolutely in love the the high and low pass filter. So many different tones.

I went to my local Sam Ash looking for a fuzz, and the Big Muff Deluxe and MXR Bass Fuzz were the only two in stock, so I compared them and ended up getting the Big Muff Deluxe. I pretty much noticed the same things everyone else has posted about. The Big Muff Deluxe has a lot more options and parameters to tweak, I'd suggest it over MXR's fuzz.

Why limit your choices to those two? There are hundreds to choose from that will keep the low end while giving you a nice fuzz tone. I'd check out Smallsound/Bigsound, Fuzzrocious, Prescription Electronics, Iron Ether, Wren & Cuff and Darkglass.

Wren and Cuff Tall Font Russian or Pickle Pie B! Both awesome and smaller size than ehx.

Me too. Even with the wet maxed out, it get buried in a the mix. I also notice that the volume drop it worse with the tone anywhere between 9:00 and 3:00 - which makes that area of tone control unusable.

The Big Muff Deluxe is intriguing, but far too big for my needs - I'm trying to keep things small! As such, I'm thinking about replacing the MXR with much less expensive Mooer Fog bass fuzz pedal.

That's a good question. I dont live in USA and i dont have access to test these pedals in music stores.
