I haven't really posted my 6 string bass I had made for me a while back in this forum. I originally started it off in Luthiers but after it was finished I spent my time playing it and never really showed her off. The bass was made in Oct. 2007 and made by a local luthier from Houston Texas. PM me if you want to know more information as he is an amazing builder.
Stats:
6 string single cut 35" scale
strings are Fodera, changed in Dec. 2007.
5 piece neck thru design (walnut, purple heart and maple)
macassar ebony fretboard
lacewood body wings, matching headstock cover
28 frets- 4 octave range starting at open E.
macassar ebony pick up covers and bridge
Bridge (custom design)
handwound pick ups-jazz in front and 4-wire humbucker in back
Audere 3 band Preamp ( replacement for original EMG preamp)
walnut heel block
inset straplocks
Gotoh tuners
brass nut, brass saddles and brass sustain block
I designed this bass and with the help from the luthier we worked for 6 months to create this work of art. The bass is well balanced, amazing intonation and action cannot be any better. The lows are LOW, the highs are clear and glass-like and the midrange is to die for. overall the Tone is very woody and precisely what I was going for, it's just more natural sounding than any other bass I've played, but with the pre-amp I can dial any tone I desire. I play mainly finger style but can easily switch from one technique to another.
Clips are on my homepage, www.youtube.com/ninefingerbass The song is Kilikina.
Enjoy the pics and clips. check out the other soundclips as well.
