Recently aquired this 81 L1000 (swamp ash/ rosewood) which I have fallen in love with.
It has unfortunately had a bad refin (it was originally trans green) and I now have the dilemma of what colour to have it redone.
It doesn't show up on the picture but it does have a really nice grain pattern. I would like to avoid natural as 2 of my other 3 basses are natural. I was thinking maybe tobacco sunburst.
The bass is a nice weight with a stable neck and I have strung it with some old TI flats. I don't really want to hand it over to my repairer as I'm not sure I'll be able to bear being parted for so long
.
Also the volume and tone knobs don't appear to be stock and I wondered if anyone hads any idea where I could get something similar ?
