My Ampeg BA300...

While I love the tone of my new combo amp, and Ive always been a huge fan of simple amp controls, let the bass do the talking, Im very 'perplexed' as to why Ampeg (or should I say LOUD Technologies) even bothered with a compressor control on this model. It serves NO PURPOSE whatsoever....

Id say maybe I dont know how to use it, but Ive had a compressor before.

I was a little hesitant based on some bad reviews I saw, but other than the Compressor issue, I love this amp.

Anyone with this amp or who has tried this amp get where I am coming from?

What exact issue do you have with your compressor? I do know the variable compressors sections on other Ampeg amps that have the feature are quite transparent in operation compared to other compressors out there, and there isn't a radical change in tone so to speak. It seems to be how Ampeg does their thing with compressors. I like how mine operates on my PF500 head, but I can see how some players would like a little more pump and squish.
