It will give me much more experience playing with othersEven though Jazz is not my genre of primary interest, the 4 or 5 years I spent playing in a local college Jazz band taught me more than I could ever have imagined, things that I use all the time in other genre. I think your Jazz experience will be foundational for your playing, no matter what you play afterward.
