At least I think it is my bass. I don't know if it is my bass pickups or my amp or what.
I am using a Silvertone Revolver (which is a P bass) through a SansAmp BDDI box and a Silvertone BAXs combo amp. I was playing my bass yesterday and every now and then I heard a strange popping noise in my amp, as if the strings were hitting the pickups (but they weren't).
Anyways, I was playing today and about every 2 minutes or so, I heard that annoying popping noise, so I just stopped playing it.
I think my bass is just giving out on me. A few months ago, my strap wasn't on my bass properly, so it fell out of my strap and hit the floor. The tone and volume knobs came off, but I put them back on easily. However, the pickups were raised up higher, so every time my strings came down a bit, it made that terrible popping noise. I lowered the pickups last month, and I noticed before I did that some of the ends on each pickup were higher the other end. Even when I evened them out and lowered them, they were still that way.
So I don't know how I can solve this noise issue. Maybe the pickups are broke, so I need to replace them or get a new bass?
Maybe I should check out my stuff later and see if I can find out what's wrong.
Edit: I found what was wrong.
