MY BEHRINGER XENYX 1002 Mixer BLINDED ME!!

So I have been working practicing at home with bass, keys, vocals, and guitar all going to a stereo looper. Obviously, without a small mixer this is very difficult!

So I came across a very inexpensive Behriger XENYX 1002 mixer and decided to try it. It seems to have all the features I need for connecting my gear so I was excited to crack into it this morning. Got it unpacked and setup where I was use and plugged it in...

AAAAAAHHHHHHH!!! IM BLIND!!!

The freaking power indicator on this thing is like a freaking solar flare! I can't even see the rest of the mixer when I'm looking at it for the intensity f that little blue LED.

Anyone else now blind from a XENYX mixer? I had heard that it was bright but wholly crap. I could see any of the position markers on the knobs or the fader or anything with that light glaring in my face!!

I'd love to hear how anyone else may be combatting this issue.

put a small piece of electrical tape over the light.......

I have a Xenyx 1002FX and I don't find the power indicator to be shockingly bright.
It is bright, but so are all the other lights and such.

As tdub said, a 3mm square of electrical tape solves most light problems with alacrity.

It’s symptomatic of the stupid shortcomings of many products on the market these days. I often find myself asking, “Do the people who designed this thing actually use it themselves?”

Case in point is the toaster we bought a while back that has the power cord attached to the FRONT of it.

Or the $4000 bass I have with a volume knob that gets 90% of its action in the last 1/8 of its travel.

I have a Behringer UB802 mixer with the same issue. I put several layers of masking tape over the L.E.D. to try and mute the darned thing--5 layers of tape and it is still hella bright, but at least its a little better...
