My Bloody Aria........

It was sold by an auction company in Oshkosh Wisconsin. I would say the last 3 frets are unreachable but it has 24 frets :) No trem bar, it's a solid bridge but it does have the micro tuners. Cool idea actually!!

I'm not sure of the setup on these. The pups seem low and fixed solid to the body. When I take it apart to have the gold plating re-done, I'll pull the pups out and see how they are mounted. Maybe they are supposed to be as low as they are. I'm actually amazed at the tight and focused sound they produce the way they are sitting. If I can put some foam behind them, I'll experiement with raising them. If not, it's very good as is! I need to make a pup switch thingy, mabye one that says BLOOD/GUTS :p

I hate to say this but it plays better than my Hammer Scarab that cost 4X as much :( :)
Cool. There must be a few of these bloody models still out there. I cruised over to ebay just to see if any were up. I have way late sellers regret after seeing yours. Congrats on yours! :D

I saw one in a music store years ago in NY. I haven't seen one since, even on ebay. The only ones I see are the burst colored ones. Honestly, if you have the chance to pick one up in any color at a reasonable price, I think you will be most impressed. It was the best $300 bucks I ever spent on a bass:D

I shouldn't have sold the one I had.:( Oh well. I keep an eye on ebay at all the japanese goodies. I would love to reaquire this along with an Aria or Aria ProII Pbass copy. Westone is another one with some neat models. I would really love to find an Electra Outlaw but those are pricey. Your Aria has oodles of cool oddball vibe!!!

Excellent score!

I think you'll find that those pickups will have foam under them. It may be a bit dried or permanently compressed now, though. You may need to replace it. But, those pickups are definitely excellent. They are from the classic Aria "MB" series, and they can really deliver a range of killer tones.

Japanese brilliance, metal-lovin' paint splatter, and solid electronics all combine to make that a fine, fine eBay acquisition. Enjoy it!!

I appreciate the compliments. I couldn't be happier with it. Even the non metal head, jazz guys enjoyed playing it today. It has a rather narrow neck but certainly NOT a jazz bass sound :)

I've had two other old basses apart this week, both Electra's. Both needed the foam replaced under the pups, I'm sure the Aria is the same way. I'm really having fun with these old Japanese basses

There was an Electra Outlaw on Ebay last week. I really don't care for the shape but I know they are great players. The modules are available often on Ebay as well. I'd love to replace the Electra Les Paul I had 25 years ago, those effects modules were KEWL :bassist:
