Yes amazing stuff, but wrong about the rhythm. Lennon was the second best rhythm player I've heard after Django Rheinhardt, when he would go over to rhythm to let someone else take the lead. Lennon's chords , themselves, often included Django configurations - just mind blowing fingerings. If you isolate Lennon's playing you'll hear just how good he was, especially on their first 5 albums.
It is heresy of the highest order not to like McCartney's playing. He'll burn in eternal damnations without relief till the end of time. Sorry, I couldn't stop myself.
