I'm pretty sure I had the green 24V with dual stomps. It's on page 9 of this thread.
I've always been interested in these Taurus pedals but almost impossible to come by in Australia, and the Youtube demos don't really tell me how they behave or sound in a way that makes me feel confident in buying sight unseen.

I have the 24 V model, and I love it (but then I also love my wunkay, so take that as you will
), and I run it always on, right after a Fairfield Modèle B (always always on), both in a buffered and blended loop, as a sort of layered mild overdrive. The 3-way switch opens up a huge range of overdrive from clean boost to pretty heavy distortion in three overlapping bands. I haven’t had a version that allows for changing the input voltage, but I assume that running the circuit at anything less than 24 V gets the dirt flowing earlier as its dialled up. I like having the clean headroom, and I’m not sure I could use more distortion than it provides at this voltage. I believe the character of the overdrive is otherwise the same as the version you have.
It could very well be a ticket. It's one of those pedals that works super well at adding a subtle growl to your tone, an always-on pedal.
Master Effects makes a line of highly regarded bass pedals emulating legendary amplifiers, all with a lot of dirt on tap. I don’t have any but I’m surprised ME was hardly mentioned.
Union Tube and Transistor also has a line of high quality drive pedals, although not bass-specific. Their LAB compressor has a small but enthusiastic following here. I’m trying to find opinions on their Tone Druid overdrive.

I got to test drive the Origin Fanboy Board.
After about a decade of playing with people that mainly utilize Stratocasters, my new'ish metal band is a different animal entirely. These guitar players don't believe in single coil pickups. This has a somewhat strong effect on the mix.
The tone I set on the DCX Bass at home was a bit too weak. I had it set on preamp with the gain high enough to get audible dirt.
In that mix, however, I had to flip the switch to OD and raise the gain to about three quarters, plus the HF knob nearly maxed out.
This got me places. In the mix, the driven bass sounded smooth. Like a sheet of fine silk draped over a leather jacket, spiked rivets and all.
I did reverse the order of the pedals again, now running bass -> DCX -> Cali76, so the comp did its thing as a peak limiter, but there was no audible change in volume within the mix. My perceived volume did not drop and all that changed was the texture, which was very nice.
While this does work somewhat great, I would like to try something less silky with a rougher texture to see what happens.

I was asking about those four knobbers earlier because there seems to be a gravitational force to them that attracts me.
When I look at my personal favorites, this layout is predominant.
The Xotic BB Preamp has it, the Audio Kitchen FPT has it, the DCX has it.
However, I am not sure about the postition the knobs have in the circuit. The FPT has the EQ pre drive, that is fairly obvious. The DXC feels like the controls are both post, but I am not entirely sure about that, same for the BB.
I would like to try these pedals against each other to see how they compare. And just for fun, I'd like to toss in something cheap that follows the same topology.

That is good to know. Maxon has a new version of their bass overdrive, but I don't think it sounds all that great from what I've heard.

Post Drive Baxandall EQ. Not as a cheap option though.
I'm really thinking Donner or something like that.
