My flats have become grabby and sticky feeling.

Have some Rotosound jazz flats on my bass that I bought a month ago, not sure how old they are since they came on the bass. They were definitely broken in though. I liked them a lot, but now after a month of heavy playing they have started feeling grabby and almost sticky. Is this something that is known to happen with Monel?

I'm thinking of going back to labella just for the smooth as glass finish and tighter windings now.

Anyone have similar issues?

I have a Jazz that has had the same set of TI flats on it since about 1999. They do need to be cleaned every so often. I typically use a soft cloth and a bit of naphtha ( aka lighter fluid) and they return to their glass-like smoothness.
