Greg, I'm not sure there's an adequate word. "Stunning" comes close, but doesn't get there. The top is beyond gorgeous... I'm VERY happy for you, and I can't wait to hear your thoughts once it's in your hands.

The problem with all three pics, most notably the wenge, is that I didn't spend much time matching the lighting/highlighting between the body & board. I can spend some more time on that if you think it'd help.

I think the plain BEM is the winner. It complements rather than competes with the top... and the wenge doesn't really do anything, does it? I thought it might tie into the wenge in the body a little more tantalizingly, but sadly no... I'm sure the wenge would sound thunderous, but I'm kinda getting excited about having a snappy maple-boarded bass in my arsenal...
The plain BEM is nuts without being TOO nuts. The Koa still draws your eye more than the fretboard. I think the mineral streaks would be a bit of a distraction visually...
And yes, I'm WAY overthinking this
That white wenge is INSANE!! If I didn't have a hard deadline on getting the bass (Vic's camp in 2-3 weeks), I'd consider it. But I don't want to run Gard through the ringer trying to source that material, Roscoe has already gone WAY beyond the call trying to get this bass cranked out in a stupid short timeframe.
So would anyone NOT do the plain BEM? That's certainly the way I'm leaning...
