my head asploded :(

Anyone using TC as a bastion of integrity because they recalled an amp that could kill people but went two years before they ever admitted that they lied about wattages deserves nothing.

hee hee.
One could argue it's just marketing.
It's like on the Ampeg site where they say; when only a 15 will get you that fat sound-Lie- or 10s react faster to transient peaks-more lies. Still up on the site too

fair point to be sure but you have to wonder why he brought TC into this thread in the first place.
It's been four year of trying to bring tc down because they didn't accept him for the pilot scheme. you would think he would be over it by now

Got me - I play Mesa and Genz-Benz, so none of that really matters much to me, anyways...

Because you have zero problem waltzing into every Ampeg thread and spouting all the unproven crap and nonsense you always like to spout about them allegedly being liars while being a huge fan of TC stuff which is put out by proven liars.

You see, you simply don't walk it like you talk it. Everyone knows you're just trying to "catch" Ampeg in a lie because you're still all butthurt about me going off on TC lying about wattages.

I have one tc product that I like. I would not call myself a huge fan. If it broke I would get something else.

So you don't think that crap on the ampeg site about the speakers is not lies? that 1 % failure rate is a lie? that turning your amp past halfway is user error?

You are the one always bringing up tc because they rejected you for the pilot scheme and you are butt hurt because they didn't think you are the big rock star you think you are. And they are right. No one outside talk bass knows who you are. Even Ampeg don't have you on the artist roster page.

Ampeg would have me on the roster page if I ever got off my ass and sent them the pic and bio I promised once I got my Heritage. And while you're right that I'm not a rock star by any means, how many endorsements do YOU have?

And get it right...I was way more insulted by the lame "consolation prize" of a free footswitch that I could only get if I bought the head.

Anyway, that's no fun...let's address your accusations...

1. Yeah, OK, that's stretching the truth, but considering that most of Ampeg's 10"s do 5k while most of their 15"s do 4k, the 10"s actually do have better perceived transient response.

2. Where is your proof that the 1% failure rate is a lie?

3. Ampeg and Mackie share a CS department and most of their CS employees are sound techs, therefore they will often answer questions as sound techs rather than bass players. And that is pretty much the norm in serious PA world...if you have to turn something up over half way to get enough out of it, you need more power. So at worst, they're answering the bass amp questions with sound tech answers.

But you keep trying there, Sparky. Even a broken clock is right twice a day.

They didn't owe you anything did they? get over yourself

Stretching the truth- lie.
Perceived is a funny choice of word. like perceived watts:o

I'll show you the relevance. Reading your posts made me think you are a reherashal-room-warrior with poor gigging experience. I have to admit that you have experience.

But this makes me wonder even more about the things you think its worth fighting about.

I am now gigging about 36 years, and I had about 1.700 gigs. And I am no big rock star, too. But I am making music for a living with lots of work to do. Maybe you have to get over the 1.500 - mark to become a bit wiser.

Ciao
