Good idea to feed drums into it in your situation. Distance can cause major timing issues due to sound delays. With us and using Avioms, I can mix in whatever I want into the ear buds. That said, I would much rather play ambiently like you do.

Good idea to feed drums into it in your situation. Distance can cause major timing issues due to sound delays. With us and using Avioms, I can mix in whatever I want into the ear buds. That said, I would much rather play ambiently like you do.
For those interested i have a few clips here with different points of reference to how the rig may sound, they don't do it full justice of course but you get a slight idea on the tone coming from it..

What kind of strap do you use? I have a generic 2" poly and it's okay, but curious as to what a pro like you uses for regular gigs
I just love that padded case that it's in! I think that would be super convenient even for my non-monster, non-pro rig.
Thanks, i started using the GruvGear Solo strap Neo 4.0, which is a super wide and stretchy strap, helpful if you have a really heavy bass, but more recently i've been digging the Mono M80 strap!

Wanted to ask you if the rig was really that meaningful in your larger festival stage gigs. More likely than not, the audience really only hears you thru the FOH, but do you get to hear the Fender 800/810 itself more than the monitor mix ? Obviously the use of the 'butt kicker" plate device so you can hear the drummer means that the stage sound on the big ones is very dispersed.

I'm on in-ear monitors, so most of the sound is through that, sometimes i like to take an ear out to catch a general vibe, but even with the IEM's in, i can still feel/hear that cab! would be very bizarre for me to go amp/cab-less, it could totally be done given the fact i'm using In-ears and a KT Platform, but also visually i think the production team want it there, because it looks right and blends in well with our stage set-up!
Sounds like they are getting some great tone out of your 800's tube preamp for FOH and your IEMs? I use an all-tube SB300 and absolutely love it.
There's what I'm interested in. How's the tone out of that Bassman 800 ? The videos are good, but I expect it sounds better there in person? If you had to buy another amp, would you buy the Bassman 800 again, or a different amp, and if so, why?
Then again, if you're calling it My monster fender rig, I take it you're more than happy with it! I've had several Fenders, including an old vintage Bassman, and I expect I would be happy with it also ...

Well, I've had an old silverface Bassman, a Fender Rumble 500 head (with the (2) Bassman 410 Neo cabs), I just sold a Fender TBP-1 tube preamp, and I suspect the Bassman 800 has the same tube preamp built into it with a class D amplifier section. The TBP-1 pre with a 2U case was just too bulky. So yeah, the 800 would seem to be a natural evolution for me. I really liked my 410 Neos driven by a Hartke LH1000 bridged (1100w) with it's plentiful headroom, and I expect the Bassman 800 would give me a similar satisfaction. Right now it's between that and the Quilter BB800. Looking for something in a somewhat smaller, lighter, and reliable format. Decisions, decisions ...

I really dig the tone! Yes of course sounds tons better in person! Have yet to try the super bassman which everyone is raving about, but happy with the 800 so have no reason to change it yet!
